Obituary of Betty Knight

Elizabeth Stewart “Betty” Knight, 82, wife of Dewey “Dickie” Knight of Sumter, died Saturday, August 7, 2021 at NHC Healthcare in Sumter. Born in Bennettsville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lex Monroe Stewart and Fannie Mae Stubbs Stewart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 sons, Michael Knight (Kim), Steve Knight (Cheryl), John Knight (Linda) and Charles Knight (Tammy), all of Sumter; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Hope Knight Peavy. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
