Dear Emily and family, John and I are so sorry we are not able to attend Emily's funeral. We just found out about it today. We would have come if we had known in time. We both have a lot of good memories about your mother. She was so kind to us and hosted us at her home one night years ago when we didn't have anywhere else to stay. I spoke to her last at mom's funeral last August. I went up to her and introduced myself thinking she might not remember who I am. She got very annoyed and snapped back, "I know who you are!". I was delighted to see her so feisty still at her age. I know memories of her are a blessing to you all. Our thoughts are with you today. Love, Gail and Johnny
