Obituary of Frances Marion Mathis Altman

Frances Marion Mathis Altman, 92, widow of Miles A. Altman, Sr., died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late James Mathis and Roxie Holladay Mathis. Surviving are two sons, Alfred Altman (Betty) and Randy Altman (Judy) all of Sumter; a sister, Emily Gayle of Sevierville, TN; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Mike Altman; a daughter, Nancy Ardis; a grandson, Andrew Altman; 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Sunday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Timmons officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 1732 Kolb Road.
