Obituary of Willis Sumter Baker, Jr.

Willis Sumter Baker, Jr., 71, husband of Teresa Coker Baker, died Monday, March 14, 2022, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Willis Sumter Baker and Mary Rodgers Baker. Mr. Baker was a retired roofer. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Gregory Baker and Jordan Baker (Gretchen); three daughters, Kelly Hayden (Jason), Kristen Childers (William), Alison Berliner (Colin Rhame); two sisters, Mary Ann Kelly, Linda Geddings, and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Maverick Baker and two sisters. Memorial Services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at Green Acres Assembly of God Church with Rev. Michael Bowman officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Kelly Hayden, 1150 Kolb Road, from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Tuesday.
