Obituary of Alan Collins

Alan Leonard Collins, 67, husband of Carol Hinchliffe Collins, went home to Heaven, Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Horace Collins and Billie Harrison Collins. Mr. Collins was a retired chicken farmer. Surviving are two daughters, Jessica Weatherly (Brian) of Sumter and Amanda Heffington (Jimie) of AL; a brother, Michael Collins (Nancy) of Sumter; three grandchildren, Brandon Barkley, Austin Riles, and James Heffington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert “Bob”, Clayton, and Doug Collins. Alan was a loving husband and father. He loved woodworking, hunting and fishing, and being a youth and Awana leader at church. He loved the mountains and the beach. Funeral Services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Live streaming will be available on the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home & Crematory website under the obituary for Mr. Alan Leonard Collins. Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Reggie Hopkins, James Rhodes, Jim Richardson, Jamie Richardson, Jody Riles and Joseph Hanson. The family will receive friends from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
