Obituary of David Tillman Floyd, Jr.

David Tillman Floyd, Jr., 82, husband of Jean Jordan Floyd, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at National Healthcare Center. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late David Tillman Floyd and Bessie Robinson Floyd. Mr. Floyd was of the Baptist faith. He was a U. S. Army veteran. He retired with 32 years of service with the U. S. Postal Service. He was an avid pool player and was the 1998 International Billiard Tournament Senior Champion. He was a true family man who greatly loved and was greatly loved by his family and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a stepson, Trey Gulledge; two step-daughters, Jeannie Haselden, Jordan Waynick (Brent); seven grandchildren, Chelsea Terry, Tillman Tumbleston-Waynick, Coulter Terry, Kinsley Waynick, Sims Waynick, Claudia Jean Holland, Banks Waynick and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Waynick, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Thursday prior to the service at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
