Obituary of Grace LeGrand Eaddy

Grace LeGrand Eaddy, 90, died Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at The Palms in Florence. Born August 25, 1932 in Dovesville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Junnie H. King and Grace Inez White. Grace married Mr. Forrest O. LeGrand October 3, 1948, and remained married until his death June 14, 1997. They formed a singing group known as The Pleasant Tones in 1975. They performed in various churches in the area for many years and even produced a recording. Grace loved playing the piano and was able to continue to play despite her Parkinson’s tremors. During their marriage of nearly 50 years, Grace and Forrest served 10 different church congregations across North and South Carolina. She was a graduate of Ashwood Central High School, Bishopville, SC. She was a member of Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church in Florence. Surviving are two daughters, Judy Thomas (Randy) of Deland, FL and Angie LeGrand of Florence, SC; three granddaughters, Wendy Courtney (Jonathan), Erin Wade (Trey) and Jessica Strickland (Jamie); five great-grandchildren, Sarah Beth Averette (Cris), Joel Courtney (Erica), Kaitlyn Strickland, Kellie Strickland, and Amelia Wade; two great-great-grandchildren, Tori Averette and Campbell Averette. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday, January 1, 2023, in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Bishopville with Rev. Cris Averette officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church, Florence, SC.
