Obituary of Dr. Linwood G. Bradford

Dr. Linwood G. Bradford, 83, widower of Shellie Louise Simpson Bradford, died Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the home of his daughter. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Theron Bradford and Marjorie Barnhart Bradford. Dr. Bradford was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served in Korea during Vietnam. He was a member of the SC Dermatology & Dermatology Surgery Association, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology and the SC Medical Association. He operated his private practice from 1970-2012 at which time he retired. Surviving are three sons, Linwood “Gray” Bradford, Jr. of Cary, NC, David Bradford (Gaby) of Atlanta, GA and Nat Bradford (Bette) of Sumter; a daughter, Joy Abram (Jay) of Sumter; a sister, Ann Russell of Sumter; 13 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel “Danny” Bradford and a brother, John “Frank” Bradford. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Stuart Mizelle officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Theron, Noah, Danny, Aiden, David John, Joseph, Owen, Hudson, and Andres Bradford. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M.
