Obituary of Brenda Kay Jones

Brenda Kay Benenhaley Jones, 72, widow of Melvin Jones, Sr., died Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Benenhaley Sr. and Rosa Lee Ray Benenhaley. Mrs. Jones was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church. Surviving is a son, Melvin Jones, Jr. (Brooke); a daughter, Mandi Jones Hunter (Nolan); two grandchildren, Chandler Hunter and Ellie Hunter. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Benenhaley, Jr., Benny Benenhaley, Gene Benenhaley; and a sister, Joyce Piucci. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Sanderson and Rev. Brian Benenhaley officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
