Helen “Bunny” McLaurin Self, widow of George Thomas Self, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023.
Born May 5, 1935, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late Hugh C. McLaurin and Dorothy Wragg McLaurin. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her daughter, Karen “Misty” Banks and brother, Hugh “Tiger” C. McLaurin, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Dorothy M. Hatcher; two sons, George Thomas Self, Jr. (Beth) and Michael Wragg Self (Neise); nine grandchildren, David Banks, Daniel Banks (Pamela), Drew Banks (Sharon), Matthew Banks, Batey Rourk (Chris), Anna Dolan(Ryan), Christina Cowper (Will), Candice Heinz and Michael Self, Jr., seventeen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Bunny was the essence of a true lady. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Bunny loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She had a contagious laugh that would brighten everyone around her. Bunny will be deeply missed by all whose life she touched.
Bunny was a devout Christian, a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served the Lord in many different capacities all of her life.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
