Obituary of Jean Edens Cook

Jean Edens Cook, 82, widow of Raymond Ross Cook, Jr., died Thursday, August 24, 2023, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Myrah Manning Edens and Cornelia Jenkins Edens. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Anglican Church of the Holy Cross at Stateburg and was a retired Administrative Assistant with the 9th Air Force, Shaw Air Force Base. Surviving are two sons, Raymond Ross Cook, III (Jamie) of Denver, NC and Joseph Edens Cook of Stateburg; two grandchildren, Merritt Cook O’Dwyer (Dylan) of Midway Park, NC and Skyler Edens Cook of Mooresville, NC; two nieces, Dynva Edens of Sumter and Farise Edens McIntosh (Philip) of St. Charles. Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday in the Anglican Church of the Holy Cross Cemetery with Father Michael E. Ridgill officiating.
