Obituary of Barbara McKamey

Barbara Boykin Goodwin McKamey, 84, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Oak Hollow of Sumter. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Burgess Boykin and Azalia Edens Boykin. Mrs. McKamey was a member of Wedgefield Baptist Church. She was a former pianist at Wedgefield Baptist Church, Hickory Road Baptist Church and Bullock Funeral Home. Mrs. McKamey was twice married, first to the late Carl Samuel Goodwin and later to the late Donnie L. McKamey. Surviving is a son, Carl Hamilton Goodwin (Wanda) of Sumter; three grandchildren, Carl H. Goodwin, Jr., Bryan Leroy Goodwin and Brandy Renee Miller; five great-grandchildren and her faithful companion, Benji. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Elizabeth Goodwin and a brother, Burgess Boykin, III. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday at Wedgefield Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Darryl Davids officiating. The family would like to express sincere gratitude for the care Agape Hospice provided Mrs. McKamey.
