Obituary of Carol Shirah Richburg

Carol Lynn Shirah Richburg, 62, died Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late James Samuel Shirah, Sr. and Peggy Jean Graham Shirah. Carol will be remembered for her strong personality and her love for collecting unique items, especially antique and vintage glass. Surviving is a devoted companion, Jerry Hayes of Sumter; a son, Herbert William Anderson, IV of Greenville, SC; three brothers, James Shirah, Jr. (Carol) of Sumter, SC, John Christopher Shirah (Wanda) of York, SC; Patrick Ryan Shirah (Stacy) of Sumter, SC; a sister, Patricia Reber (Bill) of Taylors, SC; two grandchildren, Callie Nichols and Chandler Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Franklin Shirah. Graveside Services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the Pinewood Cemetery with Rev. Wanda Shirah officiating.
