Obituary of Verlin Deloris Richburg Wingate

Verlin Deloris Richburg Wingate, 83, widow of Benjamin Wingate, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the home of her daughter, Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Born in Greeleyville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charleton Leroy Richburg and Hallie Ethel Hodge Richburg. Mrs. Wingate was of the Baptist faith. She was a retired telephone operator for Southern Bell Telephone Company. Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Wingate Tindal of Sumter; a granddaughter, Deidre Deloris Tindal of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Pat Richburg of Sumter; and three special nieces, Kathy, Lynn and Dawn. She was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Sumter Cemetery with Rev. Andrew Basham officiating.
