Obituary of Edith Ammons Cook

Edith Ammons Cook, 98, widow of Robert C. Cook, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at National Healthcare Center.
Born February 3, 1926 in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Thomas E. Ammons and Mary Evans Ammons.
Mrs. Cook was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and she was retired from Cooper Industries.
Surviving is her son, Robert E. Cook of Sumter; one sister, Thelma Ammons Baker of Bishopville; four grandchildren, Robert E. Cook (Christy), Kim Cotton (John), Chris Geddings (Sami), and Lee Geddings (Cindy); five great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Miriam Cook (Charles) and Betty Cook; and several special neighbors.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Louise Cook McClintock; a brother, Thomas E. Ammons, Jr. and two sisters, Gussie Carter and Eula Ammons Scott.
Graveside Services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Greg Pressley and Rev. Cheryl Kammermann officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son.
Mrs. Cook loved her family and church family. She wanted God’s blessing upon each one until we meet in Heaven.
