Obituary of Barbara Jean Frierson

Barbara Jean Frierson, 79, died Saturday, March 30, 2024, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late William Jasper Butler Sr. and Louise McLeod Butler. Mrs. Frierson was a retired Sales Associate at JCPenney. Surviving is her son, Wallace Gene Frierson, Jr.; two daughters, Tina Louise Davis and Julia Irene Busby; a brother, William J. Butler, Jr.; five grandchildren, Clyde “Dakota” Wooddy, Amber Kneece, Ashley Caughman, Magan Johnson, Nicole Follo; a stepson, Jason Davis(Timbra); and a step grandson Harley Davis. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Preston Blake Davis, Jr. A Celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 13 in the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 2-3 PM.
