Obituary of Benny Clayton Griffin

Benny Clayton Griffin, 58, died Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Melvin Richard Griffin and Betty Jean Jennings Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a member of Lakeside Outreach Ministries Church in Summerton, SC and was a construction worker. Surviving is a daughter, Brandi Huggins (Scotty); a son, Russell “Rusty” Geddings (Ashley); two brothers, Melvin L. Griffin and Danny R. Griffin (Ginger) all of Sumter; three grandchildren, D.J. McLeod, Kaitlyn McLeod, Kinleigh Huggins; one great-grandchild, Mallory Caples. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Griffin and a brother Cale Griffin. Memorial Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lakeside Outreach Ministries Church, 4315 Nelson Ferry Road, Summerton, SC with Rev. Kenny Griffin officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home & Crematory.
