Obituary of Alma Eunice DeGroot

Alma Eunice DeGroot, 106, widow of Louis L. DeGroot, died Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lake Marion Nursing Home in Summerton, SC Born June 18, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Wallace Hodge and Laurel Jones Hodge. Mrs. DeGroot was a member of Dalzell Methodist Church. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 4 brothers, Rivers, Rowland, Marion, and Dalton Hodge; two sisters, Fannie Secord, and Ruth Odom. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Wanda Altman-Shirah officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Betty and Ray Mills, 5365 Sidjohn Rd., Sumter. Memorials may be made to Dazell Methodist Church, PO Box 85, Dalzell, SC 29040.
