Obituary of Esther Waters Ardis

Esther Waters Ardis, 95, widow of Larry Leroy “Roy” Ardis, Jr., died Saturday, November 9, 2024 at NHC Healthcare in Sumter. Born in Florence, SC, she was a daughter of the late Fred Waters and Carrie Huggins Waters. She was a retired bookkeeper and real estate agent with the Svetlik Company. She was a member of Crosswell Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, Larry Ardis III of Sumter; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Ardis of Sumter; a grandson, Stephan Ardis (Rachel) of Columbia; a granddaughter, Emily Stavrou (Strat) of Columbia; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephan Ardis and a grandson, Larry Leroy Ardis IV. A graveside service will be held 2 P.M. Thursday in the Sumter Cemetery with Rev. Charles Owens officiating.
