Obituary of Cecil E. Rabon

Cecil E. Rabon, 80, husband of Violet “Vickie” Rabon, transitioned to his heavenly home, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland in Columbia, surrounded by his family. Born November 7, 1944, in Camden, SC. He was a son of the Late Llyod Elton Rabon and Frances Olea Wright Rabon. Mr. Rabon was a Retired self-employed Dry Wall hanger and finisher, a member of Concord Baptist Church of Sumter, where he served as a deacon. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, two daughters, Renee Baker (John) and Wendi Pack (Mark) of Sumter; four grandchildren Megan Truluck (Ryan), Justin Pack, Brandi Pack, Chad Baker (Savannah); 5 Great Grandchildren; a brother Wayne Rabon of Camden; 3 sisters, Carolyn Hinson and Patsy Stokes (Mark) both of Camden, and Brenda Poteat of Lugoff. He was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Rabon and a sister, Barbara Jones. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan M. Rogers and Rev. Tim Clark Officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 PM – 7 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.
