Obituary of Delilah Farmer

Delilah Mae Thurmond Farmer, 63, wife of William Franklin Farmer for 18 years, died Friday, December 6, 2024 at MUSC Kershaw in Camden. Born in Madison, WV, she was a daughter of the late Bill Allen Thurmond and Edith Backus Smith. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Destiny Jeffords Calcutt (Brian); a brother, Allen B. Thurmond (Robin); a sister, Lisa Thurmond Caughman; a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow “Woody” Hunter, II; and her stepmother Shann Hill Thurmond; and a beloved pet, “Pandi.” The family greatly appreciates the care provided to her by the staff and hospice team at MUSC Kershaw. A memorial service will be held 11 A.M. Thursday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. The family will receive friends 10-11 before the service.
