I had reconnected with Elaine after returning to Sumter after 35+ years. I fondly remember the McLeod family and had met most of the sisters. As a child, her sister Shirley McLeod Freeman lived behind me with her family-- Cindy, Eddie, Laurie. Eddie and I were fast friends and our imagination exceeded our pocketbooks. Elaine and I would visit at Carnivore and catch-up on our families. Elaine always had a smile and Southern graciousness. Elaine lived on Purdy. Her house was built by my father, Buddy Hodge, on my grandparents former lot. SMALL WORLDS COLLIDING. My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the entire McLeod/Lowery/Freeman family. I had the pleasure of working with Elaine years ago. We always picked up right where we left off each and every time I saw her. She was so sweet and funny. So saddened to hear of her passing. Prayers to her family.
