Obituary of Maxwell Henry Rodgers

Maxwell Henry Rodgers, 94, widower of Pearl Eartheline Hancock Rodgers, died Friday, January 17, 2025, at his home.
Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late William Furman Rodgers and Julia Irene Stokes Rodgers.
Mr. Rodgers was a member of the Salvation Army Church. He was a U. S. Army Korean War veteran and was retired from Carolina Furniture Works.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Rodgers (Susan) of Waynesville, NC and Joseph Rodgers (Patti) of Shelby, NC; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Rodgers Moye.
The family would like to express a special “thank-you” to his grandchildren, Marjorie “MeMe” Montalbano, Brandon Montalbano and Brianna “The Baby” Montalbano who helped take care of him over the last several years.
The family will receive friends from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery with military honors.
