Obituary of Sara Eugenia Roper

Sara Eugenia Roper, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at Covenant Place. Born in Conway, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Roper and Mary Emma Vaught Roper. Miss Roper was a graduate of Lake City High School and Winthrop College. Her graduate studies were at Cornell University, University of Tennessee and the University of Georgia. She was employed as a Home Economist for Darlington County by Clemson University Extension Service. She was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Fa Ho Lo Sunday School class. Surviving is her sister, Anne Elizabeth Roper of Sumter. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Monday, January 27, 2025, at Covenant Place Family Enrichment Center with the Rev. Joseph R. James, Jr. and Rev. Preston S. Shealy and the officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery.
