Sorry for your loss. I have been trying to locate a relative of O.L. Williams, founder of the Williams Furniture Corp. Phil Edwards was apparently a grandson. I've done my research!
The reason I want to contact you is to tell you about my experience with their furniture. It's a long story, but the gist is that my parents bought a ton of furniture around 1966 or so, when our family build a new house in Fairfield, Ohio. Included in the furniture was 4 bedroom sets for my 3 siblings and me - bed, desk/chair, dresser and nightstand, plus an extra chest of drawers. I inherited a lot of them, and had my own three sons use them while they were growing up, and am now passing some of the furniture on to the next generation (my girlfriend's granddaughter).. I think that's amazing, and wanted somebody associated with the company to know. Sure, there are marks and blemishes on the furniture, and some of the plastic slider thingys are broken, but this furniture was QUALITY. It's hard to find that kind of sturdiness and lasting functionality these days.
So, thanks to the Williams Furniture Corp. for producing such high quality furniture. Who knows, it might continue on through even more generations!
Thank you for your time,
Jann

Dear Family,
I am sadden to learn that you are mourning the loss of your beloved Philip. May your many shared family memories of him bring comfort to all.
It also saddens our loving Creator Jehovah God because death is an enemy that brings pain and emptiness to each family it touch. For that reason Psalm 34:18 reminds us he is "close" to those that grieve and feel brokenhearted.
How heartwarming Job 14:13-15 and John 5:28-29 reassures us that Jehovah has memories of our loved ones whose lives he longs to restore to a garden-like paradise earth. With his son Jesus Christ ruling paradise earth, all effects of pain, sickness and death will be gone a guarantee at Revelation 21:3-4.

If your searched the dictionary for the word "gentleman," surely there would be a picture of Phil. He did an immeasurable amount of good works in Sumter. May he rest in peace.

To the Edwards Family; No need to tell you what a fine & gracious man Phil was. As our next door neighbor, he always helped any way he could; he put up our mail while we were away on trip & he kept an eye on our property. He was interested in others & his contribution to the Sumter community was enormous. He was always pleasant & considerate, even when he wasn't feeling well. I will miss him & will pray for his soul.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in the promises at Revelation 21:4 that reads: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more. Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things has passed away." The Bible gives us hope that one day our dead loved ones will be brought back to life.
