Johnny and I were classmates and good friends in high school but lost touch after that. I went to Carolina. He went to Clemson. He never met a stranger, and I always envied him that quality. May God rest his soul and bring peace and understanding to his family.

John Britton was unquestionably one of the godliest men I ever had the blessed honor to meet. I was in awe of his deep, deep relationship with the Lord; he inspired me to want to cultivate the same in my own personal life. He went to the prisons and freed (eternally) incarcerated men by sharing his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And, true to John's character, didn't stop there - he continued to disciple them in their newfound faith. On Wednesday evening he was victoriously carried by the angels into the presence of the Most High God and without question heard the blessed words, ‘‘‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little, I will put you in charge of many things; share in the joy of your master" (Matthew 5:21 AMP). But I also know that for eons to come, he will also hear from the many, many souls who owe the very fact that they were in Heaven to John's faithfulness: "thank you for giving to the Lord, I have a life that was changed." This broken, damaged world experienced a little bit of Heaven because John sojourned here for 75 years! I now pray that the God of all comfort, will comfort the hearts and minds of Elizabeth and Griffith with the assurance that they will indeed see him again!
