Claire Jenkins Moise, 81, widow of Albert DeLeon Moise, died Sunday, October 23, 2016, at National Healthcare Center. Born in Walterboro, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Arthur Jenkins and Mary Nell Epps Jenkins. Mrs. Moise was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a former librarian at Furman High School. Surviving are two sons, Coles Dwight (Susanne) and Arthur Dwight (Jennifer) all of Sumter; two step-sons, Chris Moise (Allison) of Franklin, TN and Greg Moise (Laura) of Columbia; one step-daughter, Debbie Moise of Columbia; five grandchildren, Kelly Dwight Hodo (Scott), Katherine Dwight, Richard Dwight, Carter Dwight and Jenkins Dwight; one great-grandson, Luke Hodo; and her devoted caregiver and sitter, Mary Mellette. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Dan Barber officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service. The family would like to extend many thanks to the beloved nursing staff at National Healthcare Center for the excellent care they have provided Mrs. Moise over the years.
