Marjorie Harrison Montalbano, 88, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born in Florida, she was a daughter of the late Frank Harrison and Blanche Dennis Harrison Cauthen. Mrs. Montalbano was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was a former board member of NAMI. She was a retired Guidance Counselor with Sumter School District 17 and was also a history and French teacher. Surviving are a son, William Joseph “Monty” Montalbano, Jr. (Deborah) of Sumter; a brother, Alfred Harrison of Charleston; a step-sister, Betty Ridley of Sumter; 4 grandchildren, Kimberly Morris (Eric), MeMe Montalbano, Ricky Montalbano (Ashley), and Nicole James (Reggie); 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; and a special caregiver, Margaret Carter. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Montalbano. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Thursday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Shumake officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Her great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home, 650 Sierra Street.
