I will miss Verna Moore. When she lived in our neighborhood of Sandhurst in Florence, she was a spiritual rock. She let her sons and their friends (me included), be kids but she was always a calm and intelligent voice of reason. As recently as 2012, I sought her counsel concerning marital problems I was having. I was anxious and scared and before I knew it, my feet were taking me to her house for her sound and caring advice.
I remember the days that she would pick Kent and me up from tennis practice and I definitely miss her famous doughnuts! I still live in Sandhurst and realized how much the world changed yesterday when I read Verna Moore's obituary. The world is one less person Christian, one less person caring, one less person serving and one less person I can count on to be a good neighbor.
I have unlimited great memories concerning Verna Moore and will miss her immensely but I rejoice that she is now surely in heaven reaping her reward of a life well lived.
