So sorry to hear about the loss of Vernon. I've been reading the wonderful things many people have been saying about Vernon, and yes he was indeed a special man. Of course, my memories go way back to the Fraser days, and it deeply saddens me to have yet another one of my Fraser family members leave us. Hi Ann,
Please accept my condolences and want to apologize I am not there. I am on the West coast and have been in shock since I heard. Unfortunately I will not be back in time for the funeral either.
It hurts my heart to know Vernon is no longer with us. We spent many an hour together. Many at the race track or something to do with racing. The 1st trip for me to Rockingham was with Vernon. My 1st and only college basketball game was with Vernon.We really did alot together in our younger days.Vernon was always a nice person just do not let someone take out Lil Harry at the racetrack. I saw another side of him time to time as well he seen that side of me alot back then.
I will miss Vernon very much. The Lord put us together one last time, go figure, at Sumter Speedway a few weeks ago. I have not been out there for years and decided to go. He was one of the first people I seen and spoke too. I am very grateful the Lord put us together again where we spent alot of years.
If there is anything I can do for you or your children do not hesitate to let me know.

We were very sad to learn this. It has been an honor to peacefully co-exist as business competitors just a few feet away. The way it should be as you would send us customers and we would send them to you depending on who could best serve their needs! Sumter lost a good Man VERNON Gsddings was a gift to Sumter from God. He served his community in a variety of sports activities and CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS . He will be remembered as. Loyal friend, a generous supporter of Sumter Racetrack, the coach and scorekeeper for the American Legion P15 Baseball program and most of all as a wonderful Family man and dedicated CHRISTIAN. During the year of failing health he kept carting on. Few men I know have lived a better more moral and productive life He leaves a legacy his sons can be comforted by and His Wife Ann can call Blessed.
