Obituary of Franklin Delano Kelley

Franklin Delano (Frank) Kelley, 83, widower of Diane Lawson Kelley, died Saturday, September 17, 2017 at Palmetto Tuomey Health.

 

Born in Wedgefield he was a son of the late Daniel Tillinghast Kelley and Daisy Ruth Hinson Kelley.

 

Mr. Kelley was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, attended Wedgefield and Sumter County schools and graduated from Edmunds High School in 1953.  He also attended the University of South Carolina. He was the retired manager of Lawson’s Pharmacy.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Vivian Ann Kelley and Gwyn Ellis Todd (Michael) all of Sumter; one brother, Robert Bland Kelley (Elizabeth) of Wedgefield; one sister, May Kelley Davis (Charles) of Sumter; numerous nieces and nephews;

 

He was preceded in death by three brothers, D.T. Kelley, Raymond Kelley and Carroll Kelley, two sisters, Mattie Sinclair and Louise Scheule and a son-in-law, John P. Ellis.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Day officiating.

 

Pallbearers will be Ryan Atkinson, Billy L. Davis, Jr, Oscar Davis, Gene Dubose, Mike Earnhart, Bill Lacy, Archie Sims, and Kevin Vannoy.

 

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, 3065 Hermitage Dr.
