Obituary of Mary Nash Jackson
Mary Nash Jackson, 97, widow of Williford Stuckey “Jimmy” Jackson, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at National Healthcare Center.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Brooks Nash and Lillian Armstrong Nash.
Mrs. Jackson accepted Christ into her life as a young girl at Earl Street Baptist Church in Greenville, SC. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the Building Committee, along with numerous other various committees. She was also a kindergarten teacher at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. She was an avid Clemson fan and bridge player.
Surviving are two sons, Bobby Jackson (Kathy) of Lexington and Jimmy Jackson (Rebecca) of Summerville; one daughter, Evelyn Rowland (Timmy) of Sumter; one sister, Martha Terry of Sumter; 8 grandchildren, Kathleen Noonan (Buddy), Elizabeth Phillips (Mark), Gil Jackson (Robin), John Robert Jackson (Allison), Steven Jackson (Lindsay), Keri Harmon (Patrick), Tee Rowland (Julia), and Brittany Jackson; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Bea Nash of Columbia.
The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. Friday in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at First Baptist Church, 107 E. Liberty Street, Sumter, with her son, Rev. Bobby Jackson and Rev. Dan Barber officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
