Obituary of Gary Eugene Ford

Gary Eugene Ford, 81, husband of Audrey Elizabeth Layton Ford, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at NHC Sumter.

 

Gary was born in Forsythe, MT, to the late Dwight H. and Beatrice Burns Ford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, serving during Vietnam. He enjoyed coaching kid’s sports teams and was a member of St. Jude’s, where he was a Lector and sang in the choir. In Michigan, where the family lived before coming to Sumter, Gary was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an auxiliary police officer.

 

Surviving are his wife of Sumter; a son, Erik Ford (Sharon) of Singapore; three daughters, Leslie F. Weber (Michael) of Bethesda, MD, Laurie Lumish (Michael) of Oakland, CA, and Danika Ford (Warren Como) of Odenton, MD; and five grandchildren.
