Obituary of Barbara Bruce McInnis

Barbara Bruce McInnis, 81, wife of The Honorable David F. McInnis, Sr., died Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey.

 

Born in Camden, she was a daughter of the late Basil Bruce and Bertie Lee Beck Bruce. 

 

Mrs. McInnis was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Sumter Junior Welfare League.  She attended Lander College where she was voted Miss Lander College by her peers.    She spent the majority of her life serving her family, her friends, and her God.

 

Surviving are her husband of Sumter; one son, David F. McInnis, Jr. (Catherine) of Sumter; two daughters, Shawn McInnis Perkins (Stephen) of Tega Cay, SC, Lee McInnis (partner Tammy) of Columbia; one sister, Beverly Abney of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren, Rikki Williams (Kevin), Steve Perkins, David McInnis, Sarah Louise McInnis, Meagan Miles (McDuffie) and Emily Gainous (Chris); four great-grandchildren, Alex Williams, Nathan Williams, Jacob Williams and Tate Miles.

 

Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Nick Cheek officiating.

 

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at the home of her son, 50 Paisley Park and also following the Memorial Service in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church.
