Obituary of Lila Faye Hill Rodgers

Lila Faye Hill Rodgers, 87, wife of Lonnie C. Rodgers, died Friday, April, 27, 2018 at her home.

 

Born in Texarkana, TX she was a daughter of the late Arthur Hill and Lillian Gertrude Armstrong Hill.

Mrs. Rodgers was a member of the First Church of God. She loved to fish, garden, spend time with her family and tell stories.

 

Surviving are her husband of Sumter; two daughters, Greta Fields (Mike) and Rhonda Pack; two sons, Larry Rodgers and Johnnie Dupree (Lorrie); three sisters, Lessie Curtis (Rance), Betty Christian and Deloris Oglesby; seven grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

 

She was predeceased by two sons, James Arthur Rodgers and Roy Mendell Rodgers and numerous brothers and sisters. 

 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Bower and Chaplin Marvis Steward officiating.

 

Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home.

 

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Sumter, Orange Hill AME Church in Wedgefield or to the First Church of God.
