Obituary of Lottie Geneva Lowder Coots

Lottie Geneva Lowder Coots, wife of Rex Coots, Sr., died Friday, December 14 at Palmetto Health Tuomey in Sumter.

 

Born in 1938, she was the daughter of the late Lawson L. Lowder and Gladys Pearl Lowder.

 

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons Rex Coots, Jr. (Sue) of Burkburnett, TX and Roger Dean Coots of Rapid City, SD;  nine grandchildren Tonja Marie Wood (Joshua),Christen Elizabeth Coots, Jessica Anne Coots, Rex Coots III, Christopher Dean Coots (Crystal), Sandra Annette Spain (Nick), and Blane Tyler Coots; nine great-grandchildren,  Nathane Travis Deeb, Tyler Drake Bonfiglio, Jaiden Thomas Wood, Taylor Rose Coots, Lillyanne Laurie Coots, Noah Nickolas Spain, Abigail Annette Spain, Korbyn Tyler Coots; Haddlie Kristine Coots;  two sisters, Virginia Brogdo and Donna Jones.

 

She was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah M. Lowder Smith and a brother, Lawson L. Lowder, Jr.

 

Lottie was a Red Cross Instructor Volunteer and school nurse’s Aide.  She was a Boy Scouts of America Den Mother and a Volunteer at the Airman Readiness Center.

 

She was a faithful member of the Sumter First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Sumter First Pentecostal Church with Pastor Paul Howell officiating. 

 

Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. prior to the service at the church.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, 952 Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
