Jerome J. Domrese, 78, husband of Gloria Domrese, died Friday, February 22, 2019 at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

 

Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late William and Evelyn Rybarczyk Domrese.

 

He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was a member of the Sumter Elks Lodge, a board member of the Sumter SPCA, a board member of the Friends of Swan Lake, and a Master Gardner. He retired as an engineer at Eaton Cutler Hammer in Sumter.

 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Michelle Knaff of Sumter; two sons, Brian Domrese (Kim) and Chris Domrese (Lindsay), all of Charleston; grandchildren Danielle, Bethany, Caroline, Fynnley, Kessler, James and John; a brother, David Domrese (Beverly) of FL, and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by a sister, Priscilla Mazur and a brother William Domrese.

 

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church with Father Rufino Madridejos, CRM officiating.

 

The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Monday at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
