Obituary of Bonnie Louise Barwick

Bonnie Louise Parish Barwick, 95, widow of Samuel J. Barwick, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.  

 

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Fred Parish and Maude Clara Wright Parish.

 

Mrs. Barwick was of the Presbyterian faith.  She attended Westside Baptist Church.  She was a devoted housewife and wonderful cook.  She was a loving mother who took great pride in raising her six daughters.  She loved gardening and was very generous in sharing her plants and flowers with others.

 

Surviving are her six daughters, Jo Ann Floyd, Linda Livengood, Brenda Carraway (Clarence), Sharon Whitacre (Thomas), Greta Hutcheson (Mark) and Valerie Giumarra (Charles); eight grandchildren, Pam Royse, Warren Floyd, Donna Lopez, Jayson Floyd, Roger Berberich, Bevin Seay, Seth Hutcheson and Jonathan Whitacre; six great-grandchildren, Craig Berberich, Matthew Royse, Kayden Hutcheson, Anniston Hutcheson, Porter Seay and Adeline Seay; and one great-great-grandchild, Madelyn Royse.

 

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Fred Parish, Willard Parish and Wilton Parish; two sisters, Grace Hughes and Catherine Brunson.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday at Sumter Cemetery with Dr. Stephen Williams officiating.

 

The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
