Lillie Avins Turner, 82, widow of Marvin “Bubba” Turner, died Sunday, June 2, 2019 at her home.

 

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Paul Avins and Eula Turner Avins.

 

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She was retired from Gold Kist.

 

Surviving are a son, Randy Allen Turner of Pinewood; two daughters, Norma Hodge (Shawn Mize) of Manning and Penny Rayleen Shipley (Phillip) of Sumter; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Avins, Jr. and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Turner.

 

Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.

 

Burial will be in the Pinewood Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Norma Hodge, 326 Brockington Street, Manning, SC.
