Obituary of Loren W. Blackmon
Loren W. Blackmon, 75, husband of Lila Follin Blackmon, surrendered all to the will of God at home on October 21, 2019.
Born on September 13, 1944, he was the son of the late John W. Blackmon and Kathleen Robinson Blackmon.
Mr. Blackmon graduated Hillcrest High School, and was employed by Sharp Construction Company of Sumter before retiring in 2008.
Surviving are his wife of the home; three sons, Jeff Blackmon (Amy) of Texarkana, TX, Kevin Blackmon (Kathryn) of Ash, NC, Greg Blackmon of Cottageville, SC; five stepchildren, Melissa McVey (Kris) of Matthews, NC, David Turner (Heather), “Bubba” Robert Turner (Cindy), and Tommy Turner (Nikki) all of Sumter, Allison Turner of Matthews, NC; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one brother, Gwynn Blackmon (Janet) of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Janice Setzer (Danny) of Lexington, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Blackmon Heitkamp and a brother, John Hiram Blackmon.
Memorial services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with Rev. John Corbett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Friday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
