Obituary of Francis Davis Moise

Francis Davis Moise, 83 of Dallas, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2019 at the Baylor Scott Heart Hospital of Plano.

Francis was born in Sumter, SC to Francis Marion and Ella Pauline {Blanding} on December 31,1935. He graduated from Sumter High School in 1954. He went on to earn a BS in Chemistry with a minor in Biology from the University Of South Carolina in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army infantry in 1958.  He received a post grad degree from Wharton Institute of Finance 1972-74. He was a registered representative with Bache & Company in Charlotte, NC 1959-1970. He was a VP of Sales for Bache, Halsey & Stuart Inc in Fort Worth/Columbia SC 1970-1978. He served as President of Moise Company 1978-1982. He had a long-distinguished career with Prospera Financial and First Western Securities.   

Francis was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and served on the Missions team. He served in the Downtown Dallas Rotary Club. Session member of First Presbyterian Church- Fort Worth.  He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity and the varsity tennis team of University of SC.  He was also a member of the Palmetto Club Columbia, SC. 

He is predeceased by his wife Helen Fisher Moise 1974.

He is survived by his beloved wife Roland Tucker Nettles. Francis’ life will be forever cherished by his wife of 39 years. He is survived by his children Francis Davis Moise Jr. (Amy) of Charlotte, NC, Penina Moise Pulliam (Jim) of Charlotte, NC, Margaret Linn Weishuhn (Will) of Monument, Colorado, Robert Mason Moise (Anne) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, John Harold Stone (Karina) of Tampa, Florida. He will be lovingly remembered by his 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Francis Marion Moise, Francis Marion Moise, Jr., Robert Blanding Moise, McFaddin Moise, James Deleon Moise and one sister, Pauline Moise Harritt.

Francis’ love for family and friends will continue to inspire us, living in the hearts of all he touched.  He will be dearly missed by all.

Graveside services will be held Saturday November 9th at 11 A.M. at the Wedgefield Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Jody Foster officiating.

Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. 

The family will receive friends Friday and on Saturday following the graveside service at the home of Bill and Linn Richardson, 712 Henderson Street.
