Ruth Woolbright Lentine, 94, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at a local nursing center. Born in McKinney, TX, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Woolbright Sr. and Mary Woodard Woolbright. Mrs. Lentine was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Growing up in Texas, she enjoyed horseback riding and attending church activities with her family. As a military wife, she and her family traveled and lived in numerous states as well as at Yokota AFB in Japan. In her later years in the nursing facility, Ruth was known for her positive spirit, sweet disposition and her love of singing. She was a wonderful mother who devoted her life to her family. Surviving to cherish her memory are two sons, Michael J. Lentine Jr. (Joni) and John R. Lentine, both of Seneca; four daughters: Judy McMahon (Jerry) of Charleston, Shirley L Chandler of Sumter, Carmel L. Clements of Concord, NC, Karyn Powell (Bob) of Greenville; nine grandchildren: Aaron Crow (Jaelee), Sarah Hales (Kevin), Katie Chandler (Steve), Joseph Clements, Emily Chandler, John Clements, Eli Powell, Luke Powell and Jesse Powell; and three great-grandchildren: Benjamin Crow, Brantley Crow, and Cohen King. She was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and her former husband, Lt. Col. Michael J. Lentine, Sr. In light of the recent COVID-19 virus, a memorial service for Mrs. Lentine will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
