Obituary of Mary Alice Berry Simpson

Mary Alice Berry Simpson, 81, widow of Gaither Allison Simpson, Sr. died Saturday, June 6, 2020 at her home. Born in Sumter she was a daughter of the late Arthur Berry and Vergie Gunn Berry. Mrs. Simpson attended Wise Drive Church of the Nazarene. Surviving are one son, Gaither Allison “Buddy” Simpson, Jr. (Merri), one daughter, Lisa Simpson Coker (Randy), one sister, Betty Emore, all of Sumter; three grandchildren, Barry Simpson, Jonathan Coker and Laura Coker and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Jimmy Berry, Frankie Berry and Johnny Berry and one sister, Nina Pittman. Graveside Services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.
