Obituary of John Amos Geddings, Jr.
John Amos Geddings, Jr., 90, husband of Tessie Avins Geddings, died Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at a local nursing facility. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late John Amos Geddings, Sr. and Marie Barwick Geddings. Mr. Geddings was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and was previously employed by Westinghouse/Cutler Hammer. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Surviving are his wife of Sumter; two sons, Gerald “Jerry” Thomas Geddings (Debbie) of Jasper, Al and John Alan Geddings (Dianne) of Sumter; one brother, LeRoy Geddings; two sisters, Betty Jean and Bessie; two grandchildren, Jackie Sparks (Tony), Jon Geddings (Toni); four great-grandchildren, Tres Gilbreath, Tate Gilbreath, Eli Geddings and Ashley Burton; two step-grandchildren, Casey McCoy, Travis McCoy (Jessica); one step-great-grandchild, Cooper McCoy. He was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Debbie Geddings. Graveside Services will be held at 3 PM Friday at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Greg Pressley and Rev.
