Obituary of Vernie McCloud

Vernie Ruth Hill McCloud, 81, wife of Walter Lanton McCloud, died Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at her home. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Edward William Hill and O’Dessie Sanders Hill. Mrs. McCloud was a member of Sumter First Pentecostal Holiness Church and also attended Sumter Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband of Sumter; two sons, Glenn Dale McCloud (Patti) and Stanton Dwayne McCloud (Carrie) all of Sumter; two brothers, Edward Cleveland Hill and Ruben Murdick Hill both of Sumter; five grandchildren, Brian McCloud (Brook Ellen), Kathryn Thomas (James), Preston McCloud (Courtney) Jessica Turner (Pierce) and Matthew McCloud; and two great-grandchildren, Hadley McCloud and Ellison Ruth Thomas. Private Services will be held at Sumter First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Paul Howell and Rev. Clyde Chan officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
